If I had to define the experience in a line, I would call it “magical glamping in a story book setting”. This is because while you’re staying in one property you’re in the story book neighbourhood with the most charming cottages around you! We loved the immersive experience of Charmed Resorts in Alberta and highly recommend it!

Getting There
Charmed resorts is located in Blairmore, Alberta, near Crowsnest Pass. It is a beautiful two and half hours drive from Calgary. I think Calgary would also be the nearest airport if you’re flying in. The drive is gorgeous from Calgary. Blairmore is a small town and you will find all basics such as grocery and restaurants.
Staying at Jack’s Cottage
We visited Charmed Resorts in Alberta one weekend in June 2022 and stayed at Jack’s Cottage. There was a queen bed, two lofts, and four twin beds in all with an attached washroom and kitchen with fridge and microwave. The space was comfortable for our family of five and the cottage can sleep upto seven easily. I love that most accommodations at Charmed Resorts are suited for bigger families.

We loved the details in the interiors. They are charming and comfortable. There is heating indoors.
Food
We are a desi (South Asian) family, so ofcourse I will talk about food! There is a bbq grill outdoors but no stove indoors. There is a small fridge and a microwave. So you can grill some dinner for yourself, take some food with you and heat at the cottage or do takeaway from the town which is just across the street.
Activities
What do you do after taking some amazing photos? There is actually a lot to do! Charmed Resorts in open all year round so activities depend upon the weather! You can enjoy a fire outside the cottage, relive your childhood on the swing, take a hot bath in the outdoor hot tub or go hiking on the amazing trails in the area!

We loved the night views when all the cottages lit up and took a walk around the resort.
There was always someone ready to take a turn on the swing also.
The night views are truly magical! I know the owners of the property do a super fun Halloween party so you can visit the resort without staying there. The event is by invite only though, so check their social media for details.
I’m the planner of all our family vacations so I research and overthink everything! When I did a google maps search, I realized that the property is right next to a graveyard. However, once we got there, it was quite out of sight and didn’t bother us.

There are lots of different property options to choose from and I suggest you spend lots of time on the Charmed Resorts in Alberta website to find one for your family’s vacation.
