I love Faiza Iftikhar dramas for their strong female characters, wit and male characters who are not total idiots! One of my most favourite Pakistani dramas “Aangan” is written by Faiza Iftikhar. “Bandhay eik dor se” being aired these days is also written by her and is showing promise with its real characters.
Faiza Iftikhar Dramas
Here is a list of Faiza Iftikhar dramas that I have really enjoyed. There are still more of her dramas I wish to see and are on my “must-watch” list such as “Mein Sitara” and “Dil lagi” etc.
Which dramas would you add here?
1. Akbari Asghari (2011)
This is one of the first Faiza Iftikhar dramas I saw and fell in love with! A hilarious and modern take on the classic “Mirat ul uroos“, this drama is a must watch!
2. Zindagi Dhoop Tum Ghana Saya (2011)
This drama is a serious one tackling the issue of second marriages and finding love again after loss. Loved Sanam Baloch in this one!
3. Bilqees Kaur (2012)
Bushra Ansari plays the memorable role of Bilqees Kaur, a matriarch of her conservative family, living in New York City. Her life changes when her youngest son marries by his own will and his young wife tries to change things. There is some clash, drama and lots of great lessons!
4. Aik Naye Cinderella (2012)
Any drama set in Murree and Hina Bayat in its cast has my vote! The drama looks at the beloved story of Cinderella with a new angle. Do watch it!
5. Aunn Zara (2013)
This is a hilarious story of two protected spoilt children married together and their overbearing families. Love the combination of Faiza Iftikhar as writer and Haissam Hussain as director.
6. Aangan (2017)
How I love this drama! Faiza Iftikhar brings us a family that you can’t help fall in love with! The drama tackles many social issues such as infertility, marrying an older woman, girls pursuing careers, duty to family and much more in a light manner. Aangan made us laugh, cry and think. What a memorable one!
7. Baba Jani (2018)
The men in Faiza Iftikhar dramas are not gullible. I loved the story of Baba Jani and how it normalized blended families. Faisal Qureshi and Savera Nadeem look so good together!
8. Ranjha Ranjha Kardi (2018)
Loved this drama and its sound track. Iqra Aziz is flawless and I loved her journey of self-discovery and worth! Her relationship with Amma Janate played by Zaib Rehman, is my favourite in the story.
Hope you enjoyed this list. While I was compiling this blog post I realized there are so many Faiza Iftikhar dramas that I haven’t seen! Which ones would you recommend?
