Planning a Slime Party for Kids

If you have young kids then you definitely know all about slime! Chances are that your children are also as obsessed about slime as mine are! This year as Zeynab turned nine, she requested a “slime” birthday. Since I had never thrown a birthday of this theme or attended one, I thoroughly researched this topic. Here are all my tips for planning a slime party for kids.

Planning a slime party for kids:

The first thing that popped in your head is probably how to contain the mess! Yes, I hear you! Here is how we went about planning a slime party for kids.

Venue:

Given Zeynab’s guest list of 16 children, I decided to book a party room. If you have a smaller list you can easily manage the party at home also. One advantage of having the party outside is that you keep any possible mess out of the house!

Invites:

When you send invites to school, please make sure you ask the teacher to pass on the invitations discretely to the invited children so that the other children don’t feel left out.

I learnt a tip from another pro mom to send initial invites only with date, time and neighborhood of the venue along with a number or email to RSVP. Send venue details only to the confirmed guests. This will ensure that you know the exact number of guests and will not have any surprises.

Food:

Keep food simple! Do ask about allergies and cater to them.

I had kept food options for children and adults, since I had given mothers an option to stay behind with the children.

Activity:

Now let’s come to the actual slime activity!

We had the amazing folks from Zoum Zoum Party over! They took care of everything, even the goodies bags for the kids! All I had to do was set aside a space for the children with plastic table cloth.

The booking process was super smooth and the packages are extremely reasonably priced.

I got an email confirmation with all details and the party coordinator also called me the Monday before the party to go over everything.

The party hosts arrived well-before time and set-up everything. Each child had space set aside on the table as their own station to work on. They made four types of slime: cloud, fluffy, transparent, glow-in-the-dark and soap slime!

The party hosts were extremely entertaining and patient with the kids. They took care of everything for the one and a half hours of the slime activity.

They had labelled containers for all children to store their slime in and brought brown bags for the children to put them in — making the perfect goodie bags to take home!

It was a memorable party for the children and each and everyone of them said it was one of the best parties they had attended.

Zoum Zoum party are one of the best at-home entertainers in Canada and throw parties of various themes including slime, science, unicorn and much more! There are lots of ways to customize these parties! They operate in Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa.
