Nurturing Relationships: How All Mothers Need Love and Support

Have you seen the lovely new video series from Philips Avent under the theme “nurturing relationships”. I love all the three videos in the series released so far, since they highlight motherhood across different stages and how all mothers need love and support from those around them.

The first in the series shows a husband who acknowledges the hard work and dedication of his wife:

It definitely helps when the husband has Zahid Ahmed’s deep voice to boost!

The second video shows the worries and anxiety of a new mother and how an experienced mother can help soothe her fears. I loved the bhabi and nand bond in this video:

The third one has to be my favorite as it not only stars the darling Shamim Hilali but also beautifully shows how being a mother is a universal feeling and only a mother can understand what another goes through:

A mother instinctively knows how to care for children whether she is a grandmother or an aunt, because all mothers are blessed with the universal emotions of care and nurturing. These are the relationships that hold families together as they grow stronger with the glue of love.

I feel it’s important to highlight the role that mothers play in supporting each other within the same family. I have learnt so much from mothers around me, be it my mother, my mother-in-law, my sister or my sister-in-law. I realized the sacrifices of my own mother, when I became a mother and continue to learn from her. My mother-in-law taught me how to handle many situations through her upbeat approach to life and caring for those around her. When Zeynab was born and I had a C-section, I can never forget how she would bring me my breakfast, lunch and dinner in bed, so that I would not go up and down stairs.

My sister is the person I think of whenever I’m in a tough spot. I always ask myself, how would my sister deal with this situation. Her calmness and strength has guided me always. My sister-in-law balances all her roles so brilliantly that I really look upto her, even though she is much younger than me. Her maturity and energy are remarkable.

How have other mothers around you inspired you? How have they supported you? Would love to hear your stories and experiences!
