It seems like a lifetime ago when I did my Bachelors in Computer Sciences. My career path took many turns after that, and I ended up in marketing and communications. My coding skills have always helped me in life since they teach you patterns of logical thinking. Also, technology has never intimidated me and that has helped open new doors for my careers. So, I was extremely excited to find out about a Code Ninjas program in the nearby neighbourhood of Mardaloop for children! Never too soon to start!
Code Ninja has hundreds of centres worldwide where kids learn to code in a fun, safe, and inspiring learning environment. The curriculum is game-based which kids love! It’s a great win for parents also since children great skills in an engaging way!
Zeynab took a half-day coding camp at the Code Ninjas location in Mardaloop, Calgary. The camp was called “Coding the Elements” and kids learn to code by building their very own video games.
I was impressed with how clean and organized the location was, following all COVID safety protocols.
There was latest technology and tools for the children to experience such as incentive rewards created by the 3D printer (Zeynab and her friend got fidget spinners). They also played laser tags with robots and virtual reality games.
The Code Ninjas Mardaloop location has flexible coding programs for kids including Minecraft Create, Beginning Javascript and much more, making it easy on parents with convenient drop-in hours on weeknights and weekends.
They also offer online classes and birthday parties. There are belts to achieve, giving children a goal to work towards.
At Code Ninjas, kids learn to code while building their own video games. They gain problem solving, critical thinking, and STEM skills in a fun, safe, and inspiring environment.
Most programs are suited for children ages 7 – 14.
The Code Ninjas Mardaloop location also hosts a girls only coding class on Tuesday nights to encourage girls to find a community and mentors in the coding field.
Zeynab had an absolutely amazing time and can’t wait to go back!
