My children love animals and extremely intrigued with farm life! Living in a city, places like Butterfield Acres provide the perfect opportunity for children to not just experience life at the farm but also learn how to respect and take care of animals.
Spring, Summer and Fall are all exciting times to visit Butterfield Acres because the farm changes with different seasons. In the winters and actually all year round, you can also have the farm visit you! Butterfield Acres brings its petting zoos to you for birthdays, parties and fun gatherings.
Sharing pictures from a fun visit to Butterfield Acres in June with my family.
The highlight of the farm for the children are all the animals and my children loved petting them!
Zeynab loved the bunnies and Hussein was intrigued by the goats.
As the children played with the animals, my mother found a comfortable haystack to rest on.
The kids loved milking the goats! A true farm experience.
There are fun structures all around Butterfield Acres, including this one where there are toys up grandma’s loft!
Just look at this cutest donkey barn:
and this cute goat:
Even Ammie enjoyed playing with the goats.
The grounds are beautiful, with so much to do! Including pony rides, go karts, play structures etc.
Pack a picnic and enjoy the beautiful picnic areas around the grounds!
After lunch we enjoyed a fun wagon ride where we got to see more of the area around Butterfield Acres.
After getting off the wagon ride, the kids loved running in the Nursery Rhyme Park, which is a beautiful celebration of well-loved nursery rhymes.
There is so much to see and do at Butterfield Acres that it can be difficult to cover it all in a day. We were grateful for our annual memberships to return to the farm again.
The best part is that Butterfield Acres is not too far from the city since Calgary has grown and now the farm neighbors right next to the Rocky Ridge neighborhood of Calgary. Do check out Butterfield Acres for fun visits with your children and also their day camps and birthday packages.
