There has always been interest in work-from-home jobs due to the flexibility they offer especially for mothers, home-makers, retirees and students. Become a freelancer by registering on upwork.com where you can bid for projects in various categories like software development, writing, editing, designing, social media management, translation, admin support, customer service, accounting etc. You would be amazed at how some of the skills you have are needed and can generate you money on the side.

Stay consistent and professional and soon you will find success.

2. Social Media Moderation

Yes, all that time on Facebook is actually helping you develop a marketable skill! Facebook Pages and websites look for community moderators who will respond to comments and build a community. Most recently I saw the Facebook page of Dawn magazine post this job! To look for this position, send messages to Facebook pages with big following and tell them that you’re interested along with your relevant skills such as communications, efficiency and language etc. Best of luck!

3. Showcasing Your Talent: Small Business from Home

Do you have a talent that you always wanted to showcase such as photography, cooking, baking, crafting, party management etc ? Set up a small business from home and market your services. Some tips to set up a small business from home are:

  • Be professional from Day 1. Value your own time.
  • You can set up an online shop on Etsy internationally and in Pakistan on websites such as Sheops.
  • Utilize social media to promote your business.
  • Believe in yourself. Remember big corporate empires started as small businesses.

4. User Testing of Websites

Do user testing of websites through platforms such as UserTesting to make money! You can get around $10 via PayPal for every 20-minutes of feedback. UserTesting pays testers to visit websites or apps, complete a set of tasks, and records your thoughts/feedback.

Another website is YouEye where you are paid according to the complexity of the testing from $5 to $10 for a study of around 10-20 minutes.

5. Online Language Tutor

Teach remotely as an online language tutor through many websites such as learnlight. Most jobs are for teaching English, so if you have great English language skills go for it!

6. Search Engine Evaluation

Do you have great online research skills? Do look into work-from-home jobs such as a Search Engine Evaluator. Yes, all those late night online stalking skills are also marketable!

Websites such as Leapforce pay around $9-10 per hour after you sign up and pass a little test. The platform is available in some countries from around the world, and Pakistan is not included at the moment. However United States, Canada, England, India etc are all included.

7. Customer Service Representative

Offer your customer service skills online and earn around $8 – 18 per hour on websites such as Arise (available in only Canada, US and UK) and VIPdesk (available in only USA, some upselling required).

8. Online Teacher/Tutor

If you have prior teaching experience you can apply for a home-based position at Connections Academy (available in USA only, search for home-based jobs).

You can tutor students remotely from anywhere in world in various subjects such as Maths, English, Science, Biology etc on Tutor and work around your own schedule.

You can offer your tutoring services in your community also and spread the word that you’re available to teach at home for students who need the service.

9. Baby-Sitting

Most parents find it difficult to have dependable and flexible baby-sitting for their children. You can offer these services at your house. Make sure you get basic training such as CPR and look at the guidelines for childcare in your country.

10. Professions suited for work-From-Home

There are many professions that are suitable to be done from home such as interior designer, realtor, immigration consultant, translator, commissioner-of-oaths etc. If these interest you get the right education/certification/designation for them to start working-from-home.

11. Blogging/Content Creation

Online space has an insatiable appetite for great content. Start a blog, making sure you stay unique and true to yourself. Don’t copy others. I do want to warn that it is much more difficult than it seems and requires a lot of dedication, hard work and many years of unpaid work till your blog will start making money.
